Hailing from Havana in the culturally rich, musically dense island of Cuba, the talented young producer Raphox absorbed the genetic imprint of the island – the unique Afro-Cuban rhythms and melodies, and meticulously began incorporating the these elements into his unique brand of down-tempo, lo-fi electronica. Firmly rooted now in the Miami area, Raphox draws upon his musical roots and expands upon the whole premise of down-tempo lo-fi electronica, incorporating hip-hop and Afro Cuban elements to create something entirely new, ultimately expanding the genre. Raphox is first and foremost dedicated to the uniformity of his productions, meticulously crafting beats and sequences into a cohesive whole. One of his first endeavors was a remix of Swamp Dogg’s 1970 funk opus “Synthetic World,” which had the music world sit up and take notice, garnering rave reviews. On the brilliant “Money Manteca, Vol. 2,” Raphox has once again partnered with fellow Miami based producer CleanCapone, adding a whole new element and approach that best serves Raphox’s initial vision – which has proven to be unwavering, as he continues to hone his craft to perfection.
