Haas G and Kool Kim emerged as the first rap group from Staten Island, which led to being the first rap group to appear and perform on Soul Train, as well as the first rap group to chart No. 1 on Billboard twice.
It’s evident the duo have been and continue to be top discussions when it comes to putting Staten Island onto the map of Hip Hop. 30 years later and today’s most prominent artists and actors still mention The UMC’s.
